Costume

Costume

I will use leather jacket because genre of music is rock. On most of the rock magazines the clothes they wear are a leather jacket so my actors will wear black jacket to also represent that it is going to be a rock magazine.

Actors/Actor

My actors

My actors will be Jordan Lloyd. I choose these actors because they look suitable for the magazine pictures. I choose Jordan Lloyd because he does music and he will know how to handle the music instruments.

Finding of results

Conclusion

I researched many types of different magazines for example different publishers make different magazines for example the way they set it out the type of words they use, and the way they have the picture. Some examples of the magazine publishers are Q, Kerrang!, Clash and Vibe. I have also researched the price of the magazines and I explored the musicians that they feature in each magazine .From these range of different genres of magazines I liked rock genre the most.

I decided to make a rock magazine as it was the genre that appealed to me. It will be aimed towards teenagers between the age of 13-18 I think that rock genre has got many teenagers attention. It is going to be aimed at both genders males and females as i feel that rock is not aimed at a specific gender and can be enjoyed by everyone, this is also the same for different social classes. Rock is a genre of 'popular music' that originated from rock and roll.

The price range of my magazines will be around £2 this price is between the cost of the kerrang magazines and since they are a really successful rock magazine publisher i will put the price in the middle. This price is really affordable price for my target audience.

Magazine researches - Q magazines

Q magazines

Q magazines is an alternate music magazine. Q is different to magazines because of the quality of the printing and photography and also its target audience is aimed for older people in their 30's and 40's. The magazines are used mainly to inform what the music is about and it does not mention what they are wearing whereas other magazines mentions it.

They use a Q in the corner of the page so it attracts the readers easily as it stands out really easily they also use a lot of black colours as most of their magazine covers are associated to rock music. They use a lot of colours that contrast to each other making it look really good.

Adding a footer

I added a footer about some of the school features so people will know what the school offers.

Thursday, 22 October 2015

Changing the font and the size of the masthead.

I have changed the font style because that was not too suitable for a school title so I changed it so that its easier to line it so that it doesn't go into the forehead, and changed the size of the text to 180pt as the font made the text smaller.

Adding masthead.

I added a masthead of the school name by using the text icon and chose the colour blue because it contrasts with the red background. and I used the text size as 160 pt.

Adding a background

I added a new background to cover the old one because the old background had objects that does not suit the image. I chose a dark background because I am planning to use bright colours for text so it stands out on the front page.

Using the rubber tool and adding layer.

I added a layer to the picture and used the rubber tool to take out the background because the background colours does not look good to represent a school and I can add a coloured background to make it suit the colour of the school and to prepare to make a house style for the contents page and the cover page.

Trainspotting analysis

 Trainspotting analysis

The film starts with a voice over to help describe the main character and gives information about him.And it uses non-diegetic sound to set the atmosphere of the film. Then it moves into diegetic sounds when he is walking loudly towards something they made it loud so that it ups the pace of the film then it transactions into a dialog where the two character is talking to each other about quitting drugs and then they say irreverent things such as "Sean Connery" to create humor and the main character uses vague language which makes him sound like hes an angry person. Also there was a baby noise which was non-diegetic this is to create a dramatic effect that it is a drug house area but there is a baby in it. It then transitions into a non-diegetic sound of a trail horn and train going on the rails this relates to the title of the file 'Trainspotting' then it bridges into a happy classical music song along with non-diegetic sounds which makes the audiences wonder what was the non-diegetic sound was used for. Then it goes back to diegetic sounds where the main character is talking about how hes going to quit doing drugs as he says what he needs it sounds like that he is listing out the things you need to do it and it sounds like a recipe on a cooking show this creates humor and makes the audience thinks that its not going to be bad. It also contrapuntal sound by using happy music which does not suit the situation at all. The scene ends by the main character calling Mickey Forester for help then he gives the main character drugs and the main character says "What the f*** are these" to make it sound funny.
